Taalbubbl is an app that gives you real world tasks to practice your Dutch. The tasks are centered around useful and fun social interactions, giving you the chance to improve your Dutch by going out into the real world. The goal of Taalbubbl is to practice your Dutch in a practical way where you are not glued to your phone, ultimately enabling you to have access to new Dutch social spheres.

When I was at the supermarket I was asking for a specific product. Because I also went through the responses of the daily preparation kit, I was able to understand the response by the shop clerk. So yeah, that was helpful.
It allows me to anticipate the response and that gives me the confidence to continue the conversation beyond just asking one question and immediately switching back to English.

Who we are

Taalbubbl was our thesis project for the course Computational Social Science and because of the positive feedback and how much we loved working on it, we are eager to continue.
